HOW TO CATCH COBIA (BLACK KINGFISH)

LOCATIONS:Cobia can be caught on shallow inshore reefs and land based.

SIZE:Can range from 2kg to 30+kg

AVAILABILITY: Jan - April.

PEAK SEASON: Late summer and months where the water is at its warmest for the area.

TACKLE/RIGGING:Unweighted or weighted baits on heavy circle hooks.

BAITS/LURES:Large soft plastics, live bait, dead cut baits and crab soft plastics.

EATING QUALITY: A very versatile good eating fish with a firm flesh that can be cooked in many ways.
