HOW TO CATCH YELLOWTAIL KINGFISH

LOCATIONS:A pelagic fish that loves feeding in current or around current eddies on reefs and other rocky structures.

SIZE: 65cm up to 20_kg

AVAILABILITY:Year round

PEAK SEASON: As the water temperature starts to drop at the beginning of winter and trough into spring

TACKLE/RIGGING:Heavy gear, minimum 60Lb leader, extra strong hooks, high quality rods, reels and gear. One of the strongest fish per kg in the ocean so be ready for a fight.

BAITS/LURES: Jigs, live baits (away from Fish Rock), stick bait, soft plastics.

EATING QUALITY:From Sashimi through to thick seasoned steaks this is a prized eating fish
